Shattered Images

MATERIALS

Sponge Dye or Pigment ink pads
Plain pale coloured card Metallic Ink pad
Glossy card (black or white) Scissors
Lumieres Watercolour Masking Fluid or low-tac masking tape

PROCEDURE

  DYE INK METHOD
Sponge inks (dye or pigment) onto rectangular piece of card – let dry overnight. 
  Stamp over coloured inks with darker colours in dye or metallic inks and let dry. 
  Carefully cut image into pieces resembling shattered glass and mount equal distances apart on base card.
  LUMIERES METHOD
Using glossy card stock, carefully paint lines using watercolour masking fluid to resemble a shattered piece of glass. 
  Leave to dry. 
  Sponge lumiere paints over masked card - leaving each colour to dry before applying next colour. 
  Stamp over lumieres with permanent inks (metallic or plain) and let dry. 
  Mount onto card and embellish.

HINTS & TIPS

  Remove tape or masking fluid carefully - you don't want to ruin your image.
