Embossing
MATERIALS
 |
A heat gun (some people use
a toaster - I found this very frustrating. My 2 cents worth is spend the money
and buy the gun.) |
Embossing ink
(known as pigment
ink, it's sticky & holds the powder). |
| Embossing powder |
Paper or card |
|
PROCEDURE
| |
To emboss, ink your
stamp with pigment ink, it's wet so you have time to be careful. |
| |
Sprinkle embossing powder over
the ink (be generous and make sure to completely cover the image
and then tap excess off onto a spare piece of paper. This
paper should have a crisp fold down the middle so that you can
use it to tip the unused powder back into the bottle or bag -
saves on wastage. Give a little tap to make sure you have
it all. |
| |
When ready heat the embossing powder with the
heat gun - hold it about 10-15cm away from the paper and remove
heat as soon as the EP is melted. If you overheat it then
the embossing powder can sink into the paper and it looks pretty
yuck! Practice makes perfect. |

HINTS & TIPS
| |
"Embossing
is the technique that gets most people hooked on stamping.
The
thrill of putting a dull looking powder onto your design,
blasting it with a heat gun & seeing the powder turn into a beautiful
raised
(in my case gold) design.
WOW!" |
