Foil with Adhesive Glue or
Adhesive Paper
Stamp
and emboss the image you want to foil and apply
adhesive on your project to foil - glue pens
are great for small areas - for more broad foiling apply with a brush or
use a sheet of JAC paper.
|
| |
Place the foil on the adhesive (glue needs to be left to dry clear first)
with the coloured side facing up (ie: the plain side should contact the
glue) smooth down gently with your fingers to ensure the foil bonds with
the glue, and then rip of the foil sheet. You should be left with a
beautifully foiled piece. |
| |
If there are patches where the foil
didn't take, then lay down the foil again and smooth. Keep
repeating this step until you are satisfied.
|
| |
Note - air bubbles in the
glue ruin the look of the foil, so use the glue on a piece of scrap
paper first to get rid of any air bubbles. |

Foiling with
Opals or a Glue Gun
This is best done on a
cardboard tile (Opals) or a sheet of baking paper (Glue Gun) and then
attached to a project later. |
| |
Apply Opals as per package
instructions or squirt glue from gun. |
| |
While
Opals
or glue is still warm,
apply foil gently to the surface. To apply foil, place with the
pretty side facing up on top of the
Opals
/glue and smooth carefully making
sure the foil is making contact with the glue/Opals. WATCH
OUT! This stuff is hot and you can burn yourself. It's
best to smooth this stuff with a cotton wool ball or orange
stick - not your fingers. |
| |
Leave to dry – usually about 5 minutes and then
remove foil sheet from
Opals
or glue. If you’ve done it right the foil
should come away from the sheet and leave a beautiful foiled surface on your card. |
