|
PROCEDURE
| |
Using a soft rubber brayer brayer brightly coloured ink onto white
matt/gloss card, leave to dry for roughly 30 minutes. If
you are after a varied look (as shown in example to the right) then
brayer in different directions - if after a more even toning then
always brayer in one direction only, eg: up and down, but not up and
down and left to right.. |
| |
Ink up stamp with clear embossing ink and stamp image onto brayered
card - as many times as you feel necessary. Emboss images with
clear embossing powder. |
| |
Brayer entire stamped and coloured card with black dye ink and leave
to dry - this may need several coats to cover colours underneath -
keep brayering on more black ink until covered. This can end up
being a little soggy - so taking breaks of 10 mins or more between
each coat is often a good idea. |
| |
Using a soft tissue or cloth, softly buff the black ink off of the
embossed images - this can take a while. |
|
HINTS & TIPS
| |
Some black inks can leave you with a 'dirty' looking images as the
ink can stick to the embossing. |
| |
The black top coat may actually need a few coats to cover up the
colours underneath - you do not want to see any brayering - just the
colour under the embossed images. |
| |
Inks that are too dark do not work as well as bright colours for the
base colour as they don't show up well against the black ink top coat. |
