PROCEDURE
| |
Stamp Roses onto scrap white paper using black
embossing ink. Emboss with ultra fine black embossing
powder. |
| |
Mix a little London blue radiant pearls paint
with some Celestial sky on paint palette, this will give you a tint of
the colour to give the sky you will paint a graded look. Repeat this
process for Sapphire on ice paint. |
| |
Begin by colouring leaves, use both greens for
this, I usually lay down the paler colour first and then highlight
with the darker colour. Leave these to dry (30 mins) and then
lay a facial tissue over the top to remove any excess paint clinging
tho the embossing (this paint does not dry on plastic or coated
surfaces - like the embossing), and you could end up with green
smudges on your other colours if you do not blot. |
| |
Colour the roses, follow the same procedure as
for the leaves, lighter colour paint first - follow the artists
suggestions when colouring, the areas that should be darker are
usually shaded in some way. Leave to dry. |
| |
Paint the sky, begin at the top with the
darkest colour and change colours gradually as you move down the
image. So you don't leave lines, make sure you paint each
consecutive colour overlapping the previous colour, use your tints at
the bottom of the image. If you go outside and look at the sky
it is always lighter towards the horizon - so this is technically
correct. |
| |
Leave to dry overnight and blot with a tissue
until no more paint comes off on the tissue. Cut out each square
carefully and then use a black felt tipped pen to go around each edge
so that no white shows. |
| |
Glue to square card with double sided tape
leaving appropriate amount of space between squares (I left 0.5 cm).

HINTS & TIPS
| |
Expect the paints to bleed into each other, it's a handy
quality. |
| |
Expect some fading. |
| |
If you run your finger over the image, even
when fully dry, some of the shimmer will come off on your finger,
spray with a gloss sealer to prevent this. |
| |
Blotting is annoying but essential if you want
a crisp image. |
