Transfer Ink Transfers

MATERIALS

Ink Jet Printed Images Scrap Paper (to cover work space)
Plain Watercolour Card or Plain Thick Cardstock Paper Trimmer or Scissors
Cotton Wool Balls Water
Transfer Ink Removable Tape

PROCEDURE

Print image using an ink jet printer, resize using graphics software as required. Epson printers using Durabright water-proof ink will not work.

Cut watercolour card or thick cardstock to size required for project, this may be the size of the printed image or possibly larger or smaller than image.

Place image, picture-side-down onto cardstock and tape down edges to prevent movement.

Spray transfer ink onto the image until wet and you can begin to see the image.
Gently rub the image while holding image in place.  Continue to rub until the ink seeps right through the paper. Carefully lift a corner of the image from the cardstock to check for transference.
Continue to rub image adding more ink as required until happy with the quality of image transfer. Keep in mind all transfers will have a misty quality this is expected, a crisp transfer will not be achieved using this product.
Remove original printed image and allow transferred image to dry.
  Use as required for project.

HINTS & TIPS

Use loads of transfer fluid, apply directly to the back of the image you are transferring - don't bother with the cotton ball as mentioned in the instructions on the packet!
