PROCEDURE
| |
One application leaves your surface
slightly lumpy, a second application fills in some of the bumps for a
slightly uneven texture and a 3rd application gives you a smooth
finish. Anything after 3 gives the same smooth finish, just a
thicker layer of UTEE to work with. |
| |
It is after this 3rd layer that
you can start to get a little creative. Try sprinkling
over different Embossing Powders (apply to top layers for a
brighter colour), glitter, beads, foil the hot UTEE, add iridescent paint, Pearl Ex, Schminke etc
and cover with a layer of clear UTEE - you can get some amazing
effects. I usually use UTEE on cardboard tiles (PrintBlocks are my
favourite) as normal paper just isn't stiff enough for the UTEE.
You can put on as many coats as you like, just keep in mind it needs to
be thick enough to stamp into and the more coats, the greater the chance
for a UTEE disaster. Also the UTEE dries fairly quickly so don't
waste time getting your stamp into it - the hot UTEE will not hurt the
rubber of your stamp! |
| |
Leave the stamp in the UTEE until the UTEE
is dry (30 - 50 seconds) and then remove. You don't have to ink up
your stamp but you can if you like. |
|
HINTS & TIPS
| |
A word of caution,
do not inhale the UTEE particles - not good for you. |
| |
If using Radiant Pearls with UTEE then only apply the RP to the cardboard
tile (beneath the first layer of UTEE). Due to the unusual nature
of these paints if applied to the surface of the UTEE the paints cause
bubbles to form in the UTEE which ruin the tile finish and leave large
holes and air pockets - not a good look. |
