Velvet
MATERIALS
| |
Rubber Stamp (Bold design) - fine
detail will not show |
| |
Good quality Velvet (high rayon
content) |
| |
Iron (plate without
holes preferable) |
| |
Water in a misting bottle |
|
PROCEDURE
| |
Set the iron on Medium High - to
High heat (will depend on the iron, follow the material
guidelines). |
| |
Lay stamp with rubber facing upwards and lay the
velvet (with the velvety, furry side against the rubber) on top. |
| |
Spray the back of the velvet
(which should be facing up towards you) with a fine mist of
water and put iron (avoiding holes) flat on top - hold for 10-25
seconds - do not move the iron about! |
| |
When done your image is permanent - though it
may be crushed - so be careful. |
|
HINTS & TIPS
| |
If you place the area of the iron plate that has
holes onto your velvet - the image of the holes will be printed
onto the fabric. Not a good look! |
| |
The better the quality of the velvet - the better the image
will turn out. |
