Watercolour Painting with Twinkling H20s

MATERIALS

Embossed Images on  Watercolour Card Paper Towel (for cleaning brush)
A5 Coloured Card Small Bottle of Water
Twinkling H20s Paints Paint Brush or Waterbrush

PROCEDURE

Stamp in waterproof ink or stamp and emboss an image with space for colouring, onto non-textured pale card or smooth watercolour card.
Place a few drops of water into the pot of each colour of H20s that you intend to use on your image.  Leave the water to sit for 30 seconds to a minute.
Dip detail paintbrush into lightest colour of H20s and apply as desired to your stamped image.  Begin with the lightest colour and work your way up to the darkest, a much smoother blend of colours is achieved this way.  Apply colour using this method sparingly.
Continue to apply colour until image is completely coloured and leave to air dry.  If unsure where to put the darker colour, look at stamp index or packet for ideas – the manufacturer usually prints a colour guide to be sold with the stamp.  Heating with an embossing tool or iron is not appropriate with embossed images, as either method will ruin the embossing.
Once dry image may be enhanced by an application of Dimensional Magic / Poly Glaze / Diamond Glaze / Glossy Accents, this is optional and not a necessary step.
Trim image and mount onto coloured card to complete project.

HINTS & TIPS

Mix colours on a plastic palette, so none of the paint is wasted (they can be left to dry & reactivated with water).
Want to try something different?  Paint a medium toned colour onto your image to accent areas, let it dry and then paint over with another colour – you’ll still see the first colour underneath!
Iridescent colours can be used to lighten other colours in the same colour family without losing any of their sparkle.
